Ria is really doing well in her violin class. Roi seems to be bored with his drum lessons, so we are not quite sure if he has to be enrolled for another term. He has always been fascinated by drums as a child, so we thought he was going to enjoy this course. Maybe he is too young to decide what musical instrument he really wants to play.
After two months of learning drums, he now claims guitar would have been his first choice. Oh, well. His drum lessons are already paid for so I guess he has to finish it.
For guitar, I guess hubby can teach him at home and we don’t have to hire a teacher. I wonder if he would be interested in learning Hofner Bass? The bass is one instrument that I am so keen in learning when I was younger but no one was really patient enough to teach me.
I hope Roi would grow to love this instrument, as well. Which reminds me, I still have not have posted photos of Roi playing the drums when I secretly sneaked into the room with his teacher and took photos! Yes, I am a certified paparazzi mom! :)
One of the things that I really love to do is to sing while Joey plays the guitar. We “grew” up in church together, so we know so many songs both old and new. It’s fun to have a musician hubby.
The best part? Another musician is officially added to the family. Ria plays the violin, and although she quit studying it formally, she is obviously very talented and gifted musically.
So here is a sample of our informal “jamming session” last Sunday. I took the video while singing, so it’s a bit shaky.
Ok, it’s Roi– again. I found old photos of him in facebook which brought back so many good memories. Look at our little rock star beating his very first “drums”! I guess this was one of those times that we were really convinced that we do have a little rock star in the making.
So you can imagine how happy he was when he finally got a chance to beat real drums! Yay!
We bought him a little drum set when he was about two years old, shortly before we came to Thailand. We could not bring the whole thing, though because it was quite heavy. I am sure he would appreciate it if we would enroll him at a music school where he could learn how to play the instrument.
And maybe when he is really keen, we could buy him pearl drums! So if his sister is into classical music being a violinist, he could very much be into rock n’ roll! I am so proud of our musical family!
