Mom’s Day in the Philippines

After being away for more than two years, I missed celebrating Mother’s Day here in the Philippines.  This is also partly because Thailand celebrates its mom’s day every August as supposed to the usual second Sundays of May.  So while the rest of the world are making ads about moms and how wonderful they are, Thailand has to wait another 9 months to honor moms and celebrate this big day for moms.

So what did I do last Mom’s Day?  Well, it was a usual Sunday and as expected, Joey and I were requested to share about our experiences in Thailand.  We went with a friend for lunch and had to prepare again for the evening services.  It was pretty much loaded, actually.

My sister gave birth to her second child a few days before, and little Ulrich had to be admitted to the hospital again for some infections.  I felt sorry for my sister who had to spend Mom’s Day at the hospital— she is such a blessing and a brave mom.    We just asked our other sister to Send Flowers to her so she would feel how special she is.

Baby Ulrich enjoying a  morning sun at the hospital.  Isn’t she a darling?  Welcome to the family, dear one!
