Loving our neighbor
You should hear our boy talk with his Thai playmate. Roi speaks English, Tewa (the boy’s name) speaks Thai. I mean pure Thai. What would a 4 year old know? Anyways, it shocked me one time to hear our Roi tell Tewa “kho thoot khrap, pen khon Filipin”– it means “Excuse me.. I am a Filipino”. I did not know Roi has picked it up from listening to us speak with Thais. Good to know he has picked up some words. For a moment I wondered if we would need a social worker who studied via www.onlinesocialworkdegree.org to help them solve the problem.
After some time of playing, they were so lost in translation– LOL. Roi got mad and hit Tewa with a stick. I panicked and apologized to the boy’s auntie who happen to be a good friend. Tewa did not think it was painful. Roi did not hit him hard but still, it was something that needed to be reprimanded.
When Tewa and his auntie left, Roi felt so bad he wanted to make a card for his friend. Ate Ria offered to help.

Kids never hold grudges. That is the best character of the child that Jesus wants the adults to possess. Good job Roi and Nice job Ate Ria for the beautiful output!

roi such a sweet kid. And ate ria’s even sweeter for helping roi make the card. I like it that they used the word we, instead of I. Kudos to you Raya!

it is rather amusing sometimes that we learn the most important life lessons from children, i guess it was all part of being a child:innocent + forgiving…
